Advanced Indoor Pool Dehumidification Calculator
A professional engineering tool designed for HVAC and mechanical engineers working on indoor swimming pool projects. Quickly estimate water evaporation, required ventilation air, dehumidification loads and heat losses — based on VDI 2089:2010 and ASHRAE (2019) guidelines.
The calculator and especially the pop-up windows are not optimized for mobile phone use and the user may encounter problems trying to input or view values from a mobile. It is recommended to run the calculator on desktop.
Core Features
Evaporation calculation
Compute evaporation rates for different types of pools with the possibility to add attractions (accord. to VDI 2089:2010) and take into account latent heat load of spectators.
Ventilation airflow
Size AHU dehumidifiers through supply air required, based on humidity load and indoor/outdoor conditions.
Heat & Energy losses
Estimate latent and sensible loads to properly size the heat generator and the dehumidification system.
Psychrometric Results
Automatically calculates air properties (absolute humidity, vapor pressure, enthalpy, density) for both indoor and outdoor design conditions taking into account altitude.
Condensation on Windows
Computes the indoor air dew point to help engineers evaluate and prevent moisture condensation on windows and structural elements.
Multi-season Scenarios
Evaluate system performance under both winter and summer through adjusting the outdoor air conditions, to optimize year-round operation.
Multiple standards
Switch between VDI 2089:2010, ASHRAE (2019) and other traditional methods used for calculating evaporation rate.
Pool attractions
One of the few tools that takes into account the installation of attractions following the calculation method followed in VDI 2089:2010
Engineering-grade results
Sufficient clear output ready to be used in technical reports and HVAC design.
